Today, Congress voted on a Continuing Resolution (CR) that will fund the federal government for the next three weeks. The CR passed the House by a vote of 271 to 158 and will now move to the Senate. Burgess, M.D. (TX-26) voted yes on the legislation. “We were sent to Congress to make hard decisions,” said Dr. Burgess. “Cutting funding is tough to do. No one wants to take money away from programs that serve the public. We are in a financial crisis, and over $14 trillion in debt.
