Weather in North Texas is unpredictable and can change in an instant. Families never can be over-prepared for severe weather and unforeseen natural and man-made disasters that may impact the region. In an effort to help residents be better prepared, Congressman Burgess is hosting his 2023Emergency Preparedness Summit & Fair onSaturday morning, April 22ndatthe Hebron High School 9th Grade Campus in Carrollton.
In partnership with Lewisville ISD, the City of Carrollton, the Denton County Office of Emergency Management and other organizations, Dr. Burgess has designed this free and informative event to be enjoyable for the whole family, kids to seniors.
Inside the HHS9 cafetorium, summit presenters will address important topics such as weather preparedness, community and school safety plans and personal preparedness. This year’s Fair will feature “Touch the Trucks” tours of emergency vehicles and live safety demonstrations outside and inside booths showcasing emergency preparedness programs and distributing helpful consumer resources. The event will open to the public at 8:00 am and conclude at 12:00 Noon. Learn how to prepare and protect your family to meet all hazards: at home, at school and at work.
