Dear Friends, This week, Speaker Pelosi imposed a mask mandate for the U.S. House of Representatives regardless of vaccination status. I told Chris Cuomo on Wednesday evening that this action will discourage those who have yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine from doing so. Americans need to listen to their doctors, not talk show hosts, about receiving the vaccine. National Update: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidance recommending masks indoors in COVID-19 hot spots... Read more

Dear Friends, This week, Speaker Pelosi reinstated a mask mandate in the Capitol regardless of vaccination status. On Fox Business' The Evening Edit, I mentioned that this will cause further hesitancy for people to receive the vaccine. Those who are not vaccinated from COVID-19 will question the truth. And the truth is you are protected. Even with the delta variant, the protection seems to be extremely good. When questioned about vaccine hesitancy on Cuomo Prime Time, I repeated myself from las... July 23, 2021 Dear Friends, This week, while we watched Blue Origins lift off, we all witnessed Wally Funk accomplishing her dream to go to space. Wally was a member of Mercury 13 and trained to be an astronaut back in the 1960s. Sadly, she was not given the opportunity to join her fellow trainees in space. She remains an inspiration for her dedication to the field of aviation and a hero for every young girl. Also, we need to be cheering on Austen Smith as she prepares to compete at the 2020 To... July 16, 2021 Dear Friends, In case you missed it this week, I joined Cuomo Prime Time to discuss vaccine hesitancy and the White House’s approach to reaching those who are not vaccinated. I told Chris that President Biden would be wise to follow in the steps of former senior adviser to the White House's Covid team Andy Slavitt and thank the Trump Administration for producing a vaccine in record time. It is that type of nonpartisanship that will save lives and remove the politics from this viru... Read more

Dear Friends, I would like to wish you and your family a very happy Fourth of July. My days in Washington are quickly returning to a busy schedule, marred by difficult decisions and partisan gridlock; however, as I walk through the halls of the capitol, I am reminded of what it means to live in a free county, and the overwhelming privilege that it is. Indeed, the very political disagreements that we often find burdensome are the byproduct of living in a free and open country with a representati... Read more

July 2, 2021 Dear Friends, Whether this Administration wants to admit it or not, we do have a crisis at our southern border. I joined Fox Business - The Evening Edit, to discuss former President Trump's visit to our southern border with Governor Abbott. The crisis at the border is threatening the lives & livelihoods of Texans as undocumented individuals have destroyed property, brought in COVID infections, & engaged in criminal activity. Governor Abbott is doing the job of the federal governmen... Read more

June 30, 2021 Dear Friends, This week, Republican Whip Scalise held a hearing concerning the origins of COVID-19. It is critical that we have an answer to the simple question of how this virus started. Whip Scalise mentioned in his opening statement: “Our children have lost a year of their childhood – and for millions of children, they lost an irreplaceable year of classroom education.” If we are not able to know the origins, then how can we learn from our past to prevent this from happening in... June 25, 2021 Dear Friends, Yesterday, I joined Republican Whip Steve Scalise, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, and the GOP Doctors Caucus for a press conference on the origins of COVID-19. I made remarks about how we should not simply be taking China's word because that would be like trusting Winnie the Pooh to guard a honey pot. Discovering the origins of this virus is not a moment to point fingers. It is a necessary step to ensure that we can prevent this from happening... Read more
