Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (TX-26) will be joined this Saturday, July 11 by Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael L. Williams, local and state officials, and industry experts for a summit and fair on energy efficiency and conservation. The event will be held at Killough Lewisville High School North, and will highlight steps North Texans can take to become more energy efficient.

The summit will feature two panels with experts from the local, state, and federal levels, as well as area organizations and businesses, who will offer information on energy efficiency in our homes and businesses, as well as advice on understanding energy costs. There will also be a fair with booths providing energy-related information and resources.

“We must all do our part to become more energy efficient and strive for an energy independent America,” Congressman Burgess said. “I invite you to join me as I bring together experts to discuss our country’s energy agenda, including the future of energy in America, ways Texas has lead the nation in many types of renewable energies, and how recent federal policies will impact Texas.”

Doors open and the fair begins at 8 a.m., with Congressman Burgess giving opening remarks beginning at 9 a.m., and Commissioner Williams giving the keynote address at 11:20 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
