This informational forum will provide interested students, grades eight through twelve, an opportunity to learn more about our nation's service academies, requirements for admission, and the selection process.

Burgess, Gibson Introduce No Armed Drones Legislation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressmen Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-Texas) and Christopher P. Gibson (R-New York) have introduced HR 1083, the No Armed Drones Act (NADA). The legislation would amend the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 to prohibit the Secretary of Transportation from authorizing any person to operate an unmanned drone domestically as a weapon.

“We can’t simply put more people into a broken system that doesn't work.” Those words weren't uttered by a Republican foe of the Affordable Care Act, although they certainly have been echoed over time. Rather, they were spoken by President Obama himself in 2009, as he conceded the point that dumping millions onto Medicaid or Medicare was no real solution to health care reform. Yet, just four years later, here we are.

Burgess Announces 2013 “An Artistic Discovery” Congressional High School Art Contest

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (TX-26) is pleased to announce the opening of "An Artistic Discovery," the annual Congressional High School Art Competition. Since the U.S. House of Representatives created the competition in 1982, hundreds of thousands of talented high school students have served as artistic ambassadors of their communities.
