Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) today announced the winner of the 11th annual 26th Congressional District Art Competition, “An Artistic Discovery.” The art competition was open to public, private and home-schooled high school students residing in or attending schools in the district. Washington, D.C. – This afternoon Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (TX-26), voted in favor of H.J. RES. 59, a continuing resolution for the fiscal year of 2014. The continuing resolution ensures that the government will be funded until December 15th, while simultaneously removing the discretionary funding for the Affordable Care Act. The legislation passed by a 230 – 189 margin in the House of Representatives. Read more »
