Burgess Statement on House Budget Committee's FY 2025 Budget Resolution

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee and Chairman of the House Budget Committee Health Care Taskforce, released the following statement on the House Budget Committee's Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Resolution.

“With the Biden Administration's reckless government spending and record high inflation, the American taxpayers have had enough. The House Budget Committee’s Fiscal Year 2025 Budget is a witness to our strong commitment of implementing pro-growth tax policies that will grow the United States economy by $3 trillion over the next 10 years and encourage robust job creation in our communities,” said Congressman Burgess. “The Biden Administration leaves taxpayers struggling to pay high prices, puts American energy independence and dominance in jeopardy and our national security at risk. In the State of the Union speech, President Biden touted Bidenomics and highlighted his plan to fund anti-American policies. Our resolution will focus on fixing the problem President Biden has created by lowering inflation, securing the border, and strengthening Medicare and Medicaid benefits for American citizens with $8.7 trillion in savings over 10 years. House Republicans are focused on securing support for ‘America first’ legislation that will bolster the prosperity of our nation instead of funding woke agendas and green new deals. Now that is a budget that works for the American people.”
