Washington, D.C. - Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the House Budget Committee Health Taskforce released the following statement on President Biden’s proposed Fiscal Year 2025 Budget.

“The truth is, under this administration, the economy is simply not working for the American people. The cost of living for American citizens has reached unbearable levels. In my home state of Texas, the price for housing has doubled in three years and the cost of food and energy is greater than Americans can afford. Today, Americans saw that President Biden’s proposed budget is a continued attempt to rob them of their hard - earned taxpayer money,” said Congressman Burgess. “This is another testament to the Biden Administration’s ignorance to the real issues facing Americans and complete disregard to fiscal responsibility. This disastrous plan will use trillions of taxpayer dollars to fund President Biden’s personal radical, left-wing agenda, and anti-American policies. President Biden, once again, leaves House Republicans to clean up his mess. The good news is, the House Budget Committee has produced a budget plan that has passed through committee prior to the State of the Union address which will support the needs of American citizens by cutting down ineffective government spending, reduce inflation, and allocate funding through legislation that aligns with the conservative values of our nation.”
