Burgess Votes to Protect National Security & Support U.S. Troops

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade, issued the following statement on the passage of the FY 2016 Omnibus funding legislation by the House of Representatives:

β€œIt is the constitutional responsibility of Congress to protect the Americans who are selflessly serving and who have heroically served our country. My vote was founded in my strong sense of duty to protect our national security and ensure that our troops overseas, who put their lives on the line every day, continue to have the resources required to carry out their missions around the world and here at home. Especially at a time when radical extremists are waging war on the United States of America and her people, the passage of this funding bill is critical to maintaining and strengthening our armed forces.”
