This week in Congress has been a busy one, marked by significant developments and exciting opportunities to serve you. I am pleased to share some important updates with you. 
 
A New Speaker of the House

One of the major events this week was the election of our new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson of Louisiana. As the House transitions under his leadership, I am confident that Speaker Johnson will provide strong and principled leadership to guide us through the pressing issues facing our nation.

The First Roundtable of the Budget Committee Health Care Task Force
I had the privilege of serving as the Chair of the first roundtable of the Budget Committee Health Care Task Force. This task force is an essential step in reigning in runaway health care spending.   
  
This first roundtable was an essential step in the ongoing work of the task force, and I look forward to the progress we will make in the coming months.
