Chairing the Health Task Force on the House Budget Committee: I am honored to announce that I will serve as the Chair of the Health Task Force on the House Budget Committee. The mission of this task force is to find innovative solutions to reduce health care spending, modernize and personalize our health care system, and support policies that promote innovation and improve patient access to high-quality, affordable care. I am committed to working to achieve these goals and ensure a healthier future for all Americans.

Protecting the Health of Americans and Their Pocketbooks: I recently had the opportunity to share my thoughts on a critical issue facing our nation: out-of-control health care spending. In an op-ed written with Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington, we announced the House Budget Committee's Health Task Force created to address runaway health care spending. Important Deadlines Approaching: I want to remind you of several important deadlines coming up: 

Congressional Veteran Commendation (Sept. 18): It's the time to honor our veterans who have gone above and beyond in their service to our country. If you know a veteran deserving of recognition, please submit a nomination by September 18th. More information can be found here.

Service Academy Nomination (Oct. 4): If you or someone you know is interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy, please be aware that the deadline for nominations is October 4th. I am proud to help exceptional young individuals pursue a career of service in our armed forces. Learn more here.

Congressional App Challenge (Nov. 1): Calling all young innovators! If you have a passion for coding and app development, take advantage of the opportunity to participate in theCongressional App Challenge. The deadline for submissions is November 1st. Find out more here.
