Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee, released the following statement after vote for H.R. 1640 – Save Our Gas Stoves Act.

"It is ridiculous that this administration is more concerned with the way that Americans are cooking their food than ensuring that Americans can afford to put food on the table," said Burgess. "This bill is in response to the Department of Energy's attempts to ban gas stoves or prohibit new construction from installing gas stoves. Americans are struggling to feed their families, so preventing these regulations should not be controversial. This administration must reevaluate its priorities, stop chasing the "Green New Deal" dream, and focus on the immediate needs of the American people."
