ICYMI: Rep. Burgess joins Fox Business' "The Evening Edit"

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee, joined Fox Business' The Evening Edit to discuss President Biden's war on American energy and the announcement from OPEC and its allies to cut crude oil production.

Highlights:  On President Biden's war on American energy: "He [Pres. Biden] drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to prevent a blowout at the ballot box in November. But now we are going into the summer driving season, and I gotta tell you, I saw just on the way back to the house this evening gas prices at $3.10. In Texas, at this time of year, guess what? It'd be four and a half dollars by Memorial Day." On domestic energy production: "Everyone points to production the Permian Basin. Yes, it's up, and Texas, thank goodness, is not burdened by the federal lands policy. But they could be doing so much more. And the drilling in New Mexico, drilling in other states in the west certainly could be happening now to increase the supply. H.R. 1 was a great first step. It showed how, with a pretty slim majority in the House of Representatives, we could pull together and get something major across the finish line."
