Washington, D.C. – Once again, House Republicans are fighting against the overreach of the bureaucratic state by passing H.R. 140 to prevent agencies from colluding with Big Tech to censor Americans’ free speech. Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee, released the following statement after voting in support of the legislation.

“Our First Amendment rights are one reason so many immigrate to our great country,” said Burgess. “Nowhere else in the world will you find a country that allows citizens to freely speak their minds. It is upsetting to learn that members of the bureaucratic state were seeking to censor Americans on social media. This should not be tolerated. It is important that this Congress puts a stop to it.”
