Washington, D.C. –Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), joined Mornings with Maria discussing the administration's response to the crisis at our southern border and ever growing energy crisis.

Highlights:

Tricky situation:"You have the talk from the administration, scaring away that they have access to capital for these companies. Anytime that they do, they do turn around and show a little bit of our profit."

Misplaced priorities: "They look around and see what's coming. They hear every economic forecaster from Jamie Dimon saying that there's going to be a recession. And what is Congress doing? Congress is right now trying to see what we can do about eliminating the constitutional rights of Americans to have protection for themselves. People don't get it. They don't care. We're why our priorities are so misplaced."

Border crisis: "And I'll tell you what's just criminal, and what's heartbreaking, is to see all that fence material resting on the ground. While we recognize we've got a fentanyl problem in this country that is just killing people, and that's where our focus ought to be."
