Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), joined CNN Newsroom with host Alisyn Camerota to discuss Democrats’ partisan anti-Second Amendment bills - H.R. 2377, the “Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2022,” and H.R. 7910, the so-called “Protecting Our Kids Act.”
On a personal side:"I had the [Emergency Preparedness Summit] seminar six weeks ago in in my district, this is important to me. I have family members who teach in middle school."
Democratic controls:"I really wished the House would have behaved a little bit more like the Senate with this. The Senate was open to hearing from both sides."
Worth the fight: "Our police chief said he made the decision, he was not going to go to 20 funerals, and he was willing to do what he thought was necessary to protect his schools. It has stood the test of time so far."
