GOP Doctors Caucus responds to Infant Formula Shortage Crisis

Washington, D.C. –Today, members of the GOP Doctors Caucus released the following statement amid rising concerns about access to infant formula:

“We are very concerned about the health effects that the formula shortage will have on babies and others whom rely on formula for acute medical conditions, such as severe allergies and metabolic disorders. It is disappointing that the FDA delayed its response by several months. This troubling shortage further highlights the country’s ongoing health care supply chain vulnerabilities. We need a diverse and dependable domestic supply chain, particularly for pharmaceuticals and medical products. We urge the Biden administration to take immediate action to mitigate the formula shortage.”

For patients looking for formula, the Doctors Caucus suggests they contact their trusted pediatrician or the local food bank.
