Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D., (R-TX) released the following statement after Speaker Pelosi rammed through a $3.5 trillion budget bill and a partisan federal election takeover.

"I am concerned for all the Americans in Afghanistan who are stuck in yet another preventable crisis created by this Administration," said Burgess. "Instead of focusing on how we could aid those fighting for their lives, the House was called back to vote on legislation that solely focused on a partisan wish list. I put forward an amendment last night that simply called for regular order and debate. Once again, the Majority chose to put their priorities over the needs of Americans."
