National Update:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revised an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for baricitinib (Olumiant) as a stand-alone treatment for COVID-19 in hospitalized patients two years of age or older needing supplemental oxygen.
The FDArevised an EUA for REGEN-COV, a monoclonal antibody therapy for preventing COVID-19 post-exposure of the virus.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that pregnant women receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
North Texas Update:
Texas is experiencing an increase in positive COVID-19 cases. As of August 4, there were 11,774 new confirmed cases. The most current data can be viewed at the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 Dashboard.
The Texas Division of Emergency Management is directing local governments to the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to apply for funding for COVID-19 response efforts.
