Dear Friends,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a study on education disparities for K-12 students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • CDC released guidance on identifying, handling, and disposing of COVID-19 vaccine waste. The step-by-step guide for reporting COVID-19 vaccine waste can be found here.
  • CDC updated guidance for mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in K-12 schools to encourage in-person learning.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) initiative released a study comparing rapid antigen and PCR COVID-19 testing.

  • NIH will fund five projects with the goal of identifying ways to return students and staff safely to in-person learning in underserved populations.

The Health Resources and Services Administration opened the Provider Relief Fund Reporting Portal on July 1, for reporting period 1. You can find the corresponding reporting time period for the date payments were received here.

The Food and Drug Administration revoked the emergency use authorizations for specific respirators and decontamination systems due to increased access to N95s.

American Airlinesisteaming up with the White House to distribute COVID-19 vaccines across the globe.

North Texas Update:

Beginning July 2, the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine will be temporarily unavailable to order through the Texas Department of State Health Services. Providers can access other COVID-19 vaccines through the national vaccine finder.
