A Doctor's Note and a Vaccine Resource

Dear Friends,

As COVID-19 vaccine distribution continues to progress in Texas, many constituents may have questions on when or where they are able to receive a vaccine. I have created a page on my website to help answer frequently asked questions.

National Updates:
The Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense purchased an additional 1.25 million treatment courses of Regeneron’s investigational monoclonal antibody therapeutic.

Through the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) initiative, the National Institutes of Health awarded $36.7 million for three new contracts developing COVID-19 diagnostic testing technologies.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is requiring all air passengers traveling to the U.S. to test negative for COVID-19 within three days of traveling.

Texas Updates:
Texas Department of State Health Services announced that starting this week, COVID-19 vaccines will be primarily directed to providers with the ability to vaccinate 100,000 people or more, creating “Vaccine Hubs.”

Until next time, this is your doctor's note.
