ICYMI: Burgess to Jon Scott: Keeping Schools Shuttered Would be a Mistake

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), a member of the House Rules Committee and Republican Leader of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, told Fox News’ Jon Scott that most children across the country should return to school in the Fall.

Highlights:
Not a one size fits all solution: Texas is a big state, and there are different parts of the state where the answer may look a little bit different. In South Texas [before the hurricane] there was significant community spread, the opening of the schools was going to look different from what it might look like in my area.

Closed schools have too many consequences: There are intangible benefits that students get in [person] school, that they are not getting right now.
