The Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau approved an additional 53 funding applications for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program – including two in Texas.
National Updates
Eli Lilly and Company has begun a phase 1 study of its COVID-19 antibody treatment candidate.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced new flexibilities and adjustments to current and future Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation models to improve value-based care during this pandemic.
The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority has announced two more partnerships to combat COVID-19: one with Siemens Healthineers to accelerate development of a total antibody test and another with Quidel Corporation to develop a rapid diagnostic test that will detect the novel coronavirus and three other viruses, including influenza A and B.
Texas Updates
The Federal Emergency Management Agency published guidance and tool kits for preparedness and reconstituting operations related to hurricane preparedness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Additionally, there is guidance specifically for health and medical personnel on delivering care during evacuations, shelter-in place and utility loss.
The Texas Hospital Association released a video reminding the public that hospitals are safe and ready to treat patients in need of care.
