Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), member of the House Rules Committee and Republican Leader of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health released the following statement after President Trump released his plan to bring peace to the Middle East.

“Bringing peace to the Middle East is critical not only for the region but for the world,” Burgess said. “The plan is the first step to bring both Israel and Palestine back to the table and restart negotiations.”

“This framework puts forward a plan for a two-state solution. I appreciate the foresight of President Trump to have both Prime Minister Netanyhu and Leader Lieutenant General Benny Gantz agree to use this vision and proceed to finding resolution for their neighbor, Palestine.

“The time is now for these two to come together and resolve their difference to create a better future for all.”
