ICYMI: Burgess talks Impeachment with WBAP 820’s Rick Roberts Show

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) joined WBAP 820’s Rick Roberts Show to discuss the upcoming impeachment inquiry vote happening this week.

Highlights:

It should have started this way: “You don’t start an impeachment proceeding with a press conference, that’s what Pelosi did four weeks ago. This should have been the first item that was covered, deciding on the rules of this investigation.”
Its not the same: “You know they say it is the same as the Clinton language, not it’s not. The Clinton language the Republicans were very fair, and both Republicans and Democrats could subpoena. In this language the Republican head of the Judiciary Committee can request that the chairman subpoena someone, but if the chairman disagrees, they put it to a vote in the committee, well guess what they’ve got the votes to vote down anything. It’s a kangaroo court, it’s a Soviet style star chamber, anyway you want to cut it.”
Process is still not transparent: “They say they want it to be an open and transparent process, well if you want that don’t do it in the Intelligence Committee. We can’t look at it if you do that.”
