Burgess Praises Permanent Reauthorization of September 11th Victim Compensation Fund

Washington, D.C. β€” Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Republican Leader of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, released the following statement after he joined President Trump at the White House for the signing of H.R. 1327, Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act.

β€œOn September 11, 2001, thousands of Americans chose to run toward danger to help those in need at great cost to themselves. Nearly two decades later, Congress passed a permanent reauthorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund to ensure that these brave first responders and their families have the support they need. It was a privilege to join President Trump and a number of 9/11 first responders today for the signing of this important law. Our nation remains indebted to those who sacrificed so much to help others, shining light in the darkness. Americans will never forget the heroes of 9/11.”
