Burgess Thanks North Texas First Responders

Washington, DC — Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Republican Leader of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, released the following statement thanking the first responders who helped North Texans affected by recent severe weather.

“I am grateful to the many North Texas first responders who assisted their neighbors in the midst of this week’s severe storms across our region. Denton County Emergency Services, under the leadership of Chief Jody Gonzalez, worked to maintain safe conditions during the storms and in the direct aftermath. Thanks in part to the department’s preparation and diligence, our region was protected from severe losses.

“North Texas, located at the southern end of tornado alley, is always at risk for severe weather. We should remain prepared, and I encourage all families to have a plan for any emergency they may face.”
