Washington, D.C. — Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, issued the following statement on the passage of the American Health Care Act by the House Budget Committee. “I appreciate the hard work of the Budget Committee to advance this important legislation through regular order. Right now we have a historic opportunity to help improve the lives of families across our nation. The American Health Care Act provides immediate relief from the ACA by eliminating mandates and returning control back to the states. We are committed to ensuring a stable transition away from the ACA as we preserve and protect insurance for all Americans, including young people and those with pre-existing conditions. I look forward to reviewing this legislation once again in the Rules Committee next week." ### |
