Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (TX-26) released the following statement in recognition of Independence Day.
“As millions across the world struggle for democracy and independence, on July 4 we are reminded that 236 years ago our founding fathers adopted the Declaration of Independence, establishing freedom as a core principle of our great nation. The freedoms that we enjoy today are because of the bravery of those who had the courage to build this country on principles of independence and because of those who have continued to fight for our liberty. May God continue to bless America.”
