Evan Boone of Corinth and Dan Gregory of Argyle recently received appointments to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Cole Kembel of Denton received an appointment to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y.

U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Lewisville, who recommended the students for the academies, recently presented each with a certificate of congressional recognition and a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol.
