Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee, joined Fox Business' The Evening Edit to discuss President Biden’s war on American energy.  

Highlights:

On Biden’s cancelation of oil leases in Alaska: “He [President Biden] does not have the ability to just wave his hand and disrupt that legislation. This is the existing current law. I think they’ll be successful in their lawsuit. It’s obviously an unconstitutional, illegal taking.” 
  
On sky-high energy prices: “Why does he [President Biden] hate the middle class in America so badly that he wants to saddle them with 6, 7, 8 dollar a gallon gasoline on top of everything else he’s done?” 
  
America’s energy future is all of the above: “We should be expanding nuclear, we should be expanding natural gas, and yes, there is probably a place for coal in Texas. All of the above are necessary to keep the lights on.”
