Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee, released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 3941 – Schools Not Shelters Act.

“President Biden and his administration either do not realize or just simply don’t care how their immigration policies have exacerbated the crisis at the southern border,” said Burgess. “Opening our public schools to house unlawful migrants continues to illuminate the ‘Open Now’ sign the President has placed on our border. First and foremost, our schools must educate our children, not provide a cover up for the failed policies put forward by this administration.”
