A study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on COVID-19 infections in Kentucky found that those who are not vaccinated are twice as likely to contract the virus.

  • The CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices updated its analysis of COVID-19 vaccination risks to clarify that benefits outweigh the risks of not receiving the vaccine.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule for reporting COVID-19 vaccinations of hospital staff.

North Texas Update:

There are over 9,400 hospitalizations in Texas due to COVID-19.

On August 7th, Gov. Abbott convened a second special legislative session focused on COVID-19 health care expenses.

  • Gov. Abbott announced new mitigation measures for the State of Texas to combat the recent increase in COVID-19 cases.

The Texas Department of State Health Services released updated information on treatments for COVID-19.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission issued an emergency rule allowing licensed hospitals to temporarily participate in CMS’s “hospitals at home” program.
