Highlights:

Abandoning the job: “Look at the members of the Border Caucus that flew along the Rio Grande a couple months ago and saw the status of the border wall, where there are parts finished and then just holes where people walked off the job after President Biden was sworn in, because he said “we’re not doing that anymore.”

Acknowledging Texas stepping in: “[Border security] has to be a priority and it's not a priority. Look, one of the things I am hoping to do if we ever do get to our normal congressional work this year, part of that work is appropriations. I hope to work in the appropriations process to try and reimburse Texas for some of the significant expense that the state government has incurred trying to do the federal government's job.”

Origins of COVID-19: “Look, we need answers, we do not need political fights. People need to come forward with what information they have.”
