Burgess reacts to Brady retirement announcement

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), released the following statement after it was announced that fellow Texan Kevin Brady would retire at the end of this Congress.

“Kevin Brady is a staple of the Texas Delegation,” said Burgess. “He has served our state with honor and respect. Since coming to Congress in 2003, Kevin was someone I knew I could confide in and learn from. He was a titan in the House Republican Conference serving both as leader for the Ways and Means Committee and Texas Representative for the Steering Committee. I will cherish this next year and half as we are able to continue fighting for our great state and country together. I wish him, his wife Cathy and their two children the best as they prepare for this next chapter. The halls of Congress will not be the same without him.”
