Dear Friends,

Today I voted in support of H.R. 7010, a bill designed to continually support small businesses by making adjustments to the Paycheck Protection Program. This bill, now sent to the Senate for consideration, gives businesses more time to spend their loan, more autonomy on how that money is paid out, and flexibility to defer on payroll taxes.

National Update
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) published information on the following topics:

The Health Resources and Services Administration awarded $15 million to 52 tribes, tribal organizations, urban Indian health organizations, and health services providers to aid rural communities in their response to COVID-19.

Google launched an anti-scam campaign to help educate the public on how to avoid fraud. Their website has tips on how you can protect yourself from scammers.

Texas Update
The Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau approved an additional 53 funding applications for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program, including two locations in Texas.

Until next time, this is your doctor's note.
