Burgess Hosts North Texas U.S. Service Academies Forum in Carrollton, TX

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the Budget Committee Health Care Task Force co-hosted and spoke at the annual North Texas U.S. Service Academies Forum in Carrollton, Texas, which had over 700 students joining. 

During the forum, representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board, and ROTC branches spoke on the excellent educational opportunities available to qualified young men and women who want to serve their country.

“Yearly, the North Texas U.S. Service Academies Forum attracts hundreds of middle and high school students who are interested in accepting the call to serve the nation as military leaders, and this year was no exception,” said Congressman Burgess. “I was honored to host the forum and speak to the students on the education and skills our service academies offer and strengthen. I also encouraged them to take advantage of this opportunity to enrich the legacy of the United States military with their academic excellence and commitment to our nation.
