Dear Friends,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will allocate over $300 million towards supporting community health workers.

  • According to a study by the CDCs National Healthcare Safety Network, healthcare-related infections increased during the Public Health Emergency.
  • A study by the CDC reported a rise of new infection rates and COVID-19 related emergency department visits for pediatric groups.
  • The CDC issued a study showing a 10x increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations in children ages 0-4, and a 5x increase in hospitalizations in children ages 0-17 from June 20 through August 14, 2021.

A study by the Journal of the American Medical Association estimates that 83% of the United States has either infection-induced or vaccine-induced COVID-19 antibodies.

The Health Resources and Services Administration published a fact sheet detailing personnel-related costs which can be paid for with Provider Relief Fund dollars.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released information for parents pertaining to the current community and school-based testing sites. TEA’s memo to school districts can be found here.

Governor Abbott announced the addition of another antibody infusion center in McKinney. You may find therapeutic providers in your community here.
