Washington, D.C. — Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, yesterday welcomed Chaplain Marshall Dunbar, of Crossroads, Texas, as the Guest Chaplain of the House of Representatives. “Chaplain Dunbar has an extensive record of service to our country and the North Texas community. I am grateful for all the ways he continues to serve people through his work at Christian Community Action in Lewisville,” said Congressman Burgess. “It was a true honor and privilege to have him lead us in prayer on the House Floor.” Chaplain Dunbar currently serves as the Vice President of Spiritual Life and Interim Vice President of Programs for Christian Community Action. He previously served our country and North Texas through roles in active military service, law enforcement, and the Department of Homeland Security. He holds a B.S. in Ministry and Leadership from Dallas Christian College and a M.Div. in Chaplaincy from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and currently is working toward his Doctor of Ministry degree in Christian Leadership and Spiritual Formation at Dallas Theological Seminary.
