Burgess’ Statement on House Republican Conference Leadership Election

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) released the following statement after the House Republican Conference Leadership election:

"Around the country, Americans voted for the House Republican’s Commitment to America. They voted for a government that is accountable, a future that is free, an economy that is strong, and a nation that is safe,” said Burgess. “It is clear that the American people are ready for a new agenda."

"House Republican leadership will be strong and forward thinking in the hands of our nominee for Speaker Kevin McCarthy. My congratulations to him, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, and Whip Tom for their reelection to House leadership. I also offer my best wishes and congratulations to Chairs Elise Stefanik, Richard Hudson, and Gary Palmer, along with Vice Chair Mike Johnson and Secretary Lisa McClain.

"Under their leadership, Republicans in a new majority will get to work implementing our plan to get America back on track."
