Rep. Burgess, Do you have taxpayer funded health insurance? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? Why don't you and your Republican colleagues purchase health insurance in the open market if the free market is so efficient? Its against the law to drive without insurance coverage in order to protect society at large. Does this same logic not apply to health insurance to protect society from free loaders and burdening the emergency room facilities? Republicans have not done anything in the past 40 years to help citizens who do not have access to health insurance. Your only motive seems to be to waste tax payer resources to attack President Obama, repeal the AFC and keep enriching the top 2%.

It's very disappointing to learn of your opposition to the Affordable Care Act. I've met many patients over the years who could have benefited from this expansion of health care. I especially worried about young mothers delivering premature infants who then need months of expensive Intensive care. It appears the ACA will be better set up to persuade people to get preventive and prenatal care and reduce the the overall cost to hospitals & counties. I also like the pursuit of provider fraud which has already identified millions of dollars being stolen from all of us. Other provisions are already helping millions of people. I urge you to stop fighting this improvement effort and help find the fixes this Act may well need. There is much good in it. Heaven knows Texas uninsured have greatest need for coverage of any state.
