Burgess Statement on Passage of the FY 2018 Budget

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Resolution.

“Today the House passed a budget setting federal funding levels for Fiscal Year 2018. The budget includes key priorities to build a better America, including promoting economic growth, ensuring a strong national defense, and improving government accountability. This critical vote also paves the way for an upcoming overhaul of the federal tax code. Congress must ensure fiscal responsibility by reducing federal spending and implementing a simpler, better tax code. Now is the time to create meaningful change and put American economic prosperity first.”
